46thAnnual Day celebration

             The 46th Annual day of SRM Nightingale MHSS on 28th February 2015 at Krishna Ghana Sabha was an  evening to remember. The stage was prepared with much expectation for the opportunists to recognize  their talent and instill positive values. The cultural programmes of the day provided a peep into inspiring  performances of the students. The eloquent anchors led the audience through the performances. The  prayer song , lighting of the Kuthuvillakku was followed by the glittering stars of UKG gracefully walking  to the dais  with their graduation attire to receive their degree. Welcoming all for the days function by  the Vice-Principal Mrs Lakshmi instilled the cultural heritage of our Nation.   The dainty dancers presented a welcome dance for the song “ Swagatham”.The songs “Achievement” and “Matraum ondre  marathathu” promulgated  the success and growth of SRM.  The   dance save the environment the pressing need of the hour gained public applause. The skit in English “The star” was a salute to the teaching fraternity for their dedicated service to the society.The Annual report  read by the Principal Thiru T. Amalraj encapsulated the major events and achievements through an effervescent reading. The release of the school Magazine “Pragathi” recognizes students talents,  hone their skills, instill positive values and make learning fun filled  with wide array of  carefully selected activities  & events providing a holistic education. The dignitaries were felicitated with floral bouquet. The Presesidential address by our Chairman Dr. R. Shivakumar     stressed the importance of education correlating it to human anatomy citing as the heart of a man. The Chief guest advised the parents and teachers to take time to understand children and build a strong foundation for the future. Western music was a scintillating performance. The tiny tots in colourful costumes mesmerized the audience. The tamil drama on “Patience” was to show the wave length of  tolerance in the minds of the on-lookers. The western dance left the audience impressive and sensational. The song “Motivation” was apt to the presentation.The “Dasavatharam dance”was a fulfilling performance. “Tillana” was inspiring. Words of gratitude by Mrs. UshaKannan  followed by the National Anthem brought the curtains down.

  • It is planned to give Optical Mark Reader answer sheet attached with student's photograph for computer Examination.  

  • The OMR answer sheet will have the details of photograph, Name, Register Number, Centre No and name 

  • The answers must be shaded by Blue or black ball point pen only.

  • The time duration for answering is 75 minutes. [ 1 hr 15 mts]     The OMR should be submitted before 11:30 a.m

                  We are privileged to carve up our rich happiness that our correspondent has been bestowed the life time achievement for his yeomanry service beyond the duty call in the field of education. 


        

             Diana Abi of std XII has garnered the chief minister’s trophy the second time in tennis with the cash amount of Rs.1,00,000 .


Competitions:

Music fuels the mind and fuels the creativity.

                In the first week of September music competition for primary on bhajans, classical and devotional songs, for high school and higher secondary group song, topic- western patriotic and bhajans were chaperon. Sapphire house was the winner at the Primary, High school and Hr. Sec. level.
 
               Children are trained in the art of public speaking. Their eloquence or skill in making speeches to the public is given indoctrination through the oratorical competitions.  
                  
               An intra school oratorical competition from std I to std XI in English and Tamil were trail blaze from 8/9/14 to 9/9/14for students to exhibit their skill and fervent in public speaking. Ruby house and Sapphire house were the winners at the primary level.
   







               Spelling bee is a concourse in which contestants are asked to spell words from a broad selection usually with a varying degree. Intra school spell bee racing for students from std III to XI was shepherd from 07/10/14 to 10/10/14.Emerald house was the winner at the primary and at the high school level.
               Quiz is a competition where the students answer several questions individually or in groups. It increases memorizing skills and knowledge. On 14/11/14 quiz competition was galvanized for Hr. Sec. Ruby house was the winner.
               Students recited verbatim poems or essays to teachers in front of a class or assembled members. English recitation one upping was conducted from 18/11/14 to 25/11/14 with different set of poems for each class. Emerald house was the winner at the primary level and Topaz house at the high school level.
               English essay writing candidacy was ride herd   from 24/11/14 to 02/12/2014 for students from Std III to XI. Each class was given a topic. Topaz house was the winner at the high school level.
                                                  
               Drawing emulation was ordained for students from std VII to XII  on 21.08.2014 at school under different topic for each class. The winner is - Primary-Ruby house, High School & Hr. Sec. -Sapphire.
     
               Teachers day was lionize on 5/9/14 to pay due respect to teachers.

               Sanadhana  Gana Isai Vizha the second year debut by Smt Dharini Ramakrishna ,chief guest,(Saraswathi Natyalaya) was ushered on 25/9/14 with bhajans by the students of Suprabatha Sabha at our school campus.
 
               Navarathri means nine nights, dedicated three days each to worship the Divine in the form of Durga , Lakshmi and Saraswathi.
               To inculcate cultural heritage, Navarathiri was caroused from 24/9/14 to 03/10/14 with the theme SRM Institutions and its achievements by kg and primary, achievements of India in spiritual, technology and sports by high school and higher secondary along with doll display.

OneO good thing about
               Sanadhana Gana Isai Vizha promotes budding artists, on 14/11/14 students of Ms Chellakrishnaswamy  - Ms Lakshmi priya, Ms J Lalitha, Ms Lakshmi Rrajesh accompanied by Chinmayi in violin and master Kailash in Mridhangam accord a vocal concert at our school.

Thiru villakku pooja was fêted on 21/11/14 to lead the students toward knowledge. Padma Sri Dr Rukmani ramani daughter of Papanasam Sivam the chief guest serenade a song and lit the kuthuvillaku.

               A cavernous library was investiture on 03/10/14, Vijayadhasami by our correspondent Dr. R Shivakumar, chairman SRM group of institutions Ramapuram and Trichy campus. 
                                                          

KG Activities:

               Roses send a message of appreciation along with the felling of joy and delight. On Rose day 22/09/14 UKG presented a floral decoration at our campus as an activity.

            Story telling is a means of entertainment, education, cultural presentation and instilling moral values. This antagonism was ushered by the KG department on 14/10/14.
Diwali
               Diwali marks the victory of good over evil. It is a festival of lights. This is derived from three root words thee + am + oli  (meaning fire + beautiful + illumination). Thee + am becomes deepam meaning a lamp. In total it is a beautiful illumination of fire.

               Blossoms of Std I curried lamps using china clay. They readied greeting cards to send it to their kith and kin. K.G. kids outfitted lamps using the art of origami.   
     

               Colours add beauty to life. Each colour brings in positive attitude. To appreciate the creation of colours KG students blow off steam colour day on 31/10/14. Mrs Anathi Ragupathy was the chief guest. The chief guest accosted the parents on child bonding and nutritional care for early childhood stating that   positive approach always takes us far ahead to success in life.

               Cartons can convey a message far more quickly than a written message.KG activity; Cartoon day was on 14/11/14 Children’s day. Tiny tots gussy up as cartoon characters entertained everyone.
 

               Helping the children identify colours from November 17th to 21st   , glitters came in different shades of dress every day on the occasion of colour week. Green colour gives balance, harmony, growth and positivity. It gives the ability to love and is a natural peace maker.
               Orange radiates warmth and happiness with optimism, uplifting and rejuvenating our spirit.
               Blue signifies trust, honesty, responsibility and loyalty. Blue is reliable and responsible.
               Yellow is the colour of mind and intellect. It relates to acquire knowledge. It resonates to left or logic side of the brain stimulating our mental faculties and creating mental agility and perception.
               Red is the colour of passion, energy and action. This is a warm, positive and energizing colour.    

               Pets are great mood boosters. Pets impact our life in a positive way.
               On 21/11/14 Domestic and pet animals day a hearing was given to  KG students  to know, visualize, touch and feel domestic animals like cow, goat and horse, pet animals like cat, dog, fish, parrot etc were schlep to school by enthusiastic parents.

               Sloka chanting with faith and devotion are our daily prayers to God. Sloka competition was run things on 04/12/14 for KG students.
              
               Calories are needed for the functioning of body including thought, physical activity, growth and healing. A healthy diet helps maintain an ideal body weight and prevent obesity.  
Healthy food day activity was fete on 19/11/14 for KG students to discipline the importance of healthy food.

               Food high in calories low in nutritional content something that is appealing or enjoying but of little Or no real value is junk. “Avoid junk food” day for KG on 26/11/14 promoted the disadvantages of eating oily foods, bottled soft drinks, etc.
Anti oxidants and other nutrients in salad vegetables boost health and increase immunity.
               Vegetable salad day on 14/10/14 a hustle by KG galvanize the students to eat raw nutritive rich food.
                                  
               Eating lots of fruits lower risks of many diseases particularly cancer.

               Fruit salad day Kg exertion on 06/11/14 was to catechize the students to eat fresh fruits rich in vitamins.
                                                  
               Transportation is possible by three ways namely road, air and sea. An enterprise on 18/11/14 for the KG through these three means was implanted to shining stars where they brought toy vehicles and align them accordingly.
“People who help us” a bustle on 28/11/14 by the KG students showed us the importance of leaning on others like the Doctor, Police, lawyer, Teacher, etc. Students came to school dressed as these characters.
        
               Paramapadham  has  root in morality lessons where the player progression up the board represent a life journey complicated by virtues (ladder) and vices (snake) the good against evil. Students of Std were pound into the right and wrong as they climb the ladder and descend the snake through this lesson in Tamil on 28/11/14.     
Angels of Std I attended a Hand writing competition directed by Brain O Brian. Two stupendous students from each section were selected. Shivani P ,I C , Sujith A and Mohinesh U from I B represented the state level.
 
               A bouquet is given to a special friend or relative as a symbol of gratitude their support over the years for sharing and caring. Gems of Std I on 12/11/14 outfitted bouquet a liveliness based on the tamil lesson “vanna vanna pookal”.
Time concept is used to find the accurate time measurement and the application of various mathematical concepts. Students of std I devised clocks to demonstrate this concept.

Awareness program:

               The fire brigade of Chennai, demonstrated how to use fire extinguisher, applicable to the situation, on 22/08/14 at our school campus. 

Intraschool English, vernacular and social project:

               Project display helps the students plan on a subject and find out the feasibility of trying out a working model or miniature construction. As part of learning English language and social project display was on 08/11/14 with Ms Jesintha rani and Ms Bagya lakshmi (lecturer Stella matutina) as our chief guests.
 

Crossword Puzzles:             

               Finding out words using clues enriches the vocabulary. To nourish this ability cross word puzzle was shepherd for students from Std I to XI on 21/11/14.
Faculty development program:
               Faculty development program was engineered on 23/08/14 for primary teaches and on 01/11/14 for higher secondary teachers by Dr Ramani vathiyanathan. Tips on building a friendly environment with good class control, helping the students score high coupled with understanding and liking to the subject were given.
 
School assembly events:
               National Journalism day was made whoopee on 17/11/14. Students of Std XI-B enacted a skit in the assembly to tell us that English is a link between who we are and what the world perceives us to be. This day is a red letter day to make a global impact on media.

               World aids day celebrated on 1/12/14 provides an opportunity for people to learn about the facts of HIV and put their knowledge to action. Our support can be shown for people living with HIV on world AIDS day by wearing a RED RIBBON. This drums into our ears to raise awareness about the deadly disease and to prevent the spread of HIV AIDS.
                
               WORLD COMPUTER LITERACY DAY exalt on 2/12/14 aims to increase awareness of this ‘divide’ and increase access to information technology for disadvantaged communities. We cultivate the knowledge and ability to utilize computers and related technology efficiently with a wide range of skills.
 
               INDIAN NAVY DAY was celebrated on 4/12/14 with the prime object of the navy to secure the nations maritime borders. As our former President Dr. Abdul Kalam rightly said we are indebted to make India a developed Nation by 2020.
               During the 2nd term as assembly activity students of high school and higher secondary were given a topic to present. Std vii spelling and presentation, std viii spelling and creative writing,  std ix spelling and current affair, std x spelling and thematic presentation, std xi spelling and debate.
 

EXAM PREPARATORY  CLASSES:
               The management is keen on the success of every individual in SRM. Std XII students are facilitated with a helping hand from outside in math, physics and chemistry to score high in public examination.
CALLIGRAPHY:
               The school takes keen interest to improve the handwriting of students. Arrangements are made to give special training for students with faculty from outside. Std VII , VIII, IX & XI on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays ,for juniors std IV to VI on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays segregation is done and time devoted in the evenings between 3.00 and 4.30 pm for practising. Hand writing can be improved using seven wonder techniques like: have a strong desire,  not cramming the words, gap between words, reducing the long letters etc. Letter sheets and guide line sheets are used to improve spacing between words and lines. Letter formation is improved using butter sheet on given correct format.

                 Students of scouts and guides proceeded with a rally on 23/9/14 to imbibe the importance of rain water harvesting, the need of the hour.
